Priests, Prophets, Politicians, People and Protests is a collection of edited pieces that first appeared in David Amies' blog, which he has been adding to since 2006. The blog has been variously called Dave's Blog, Dave's Australian Blog and is now, rather more respectably, known as David Amies' Polemics. The essays have dealt with major topics of the day and although some are now ten years old, the issues covered remain relevant. The blog has been read by a group of friends, relatives and colleagues, some of whom suggested that entries be collected, edited and published in book form. David Amies was a medical practitioner by training and a university teacher of medical undergraduates by accident He readily admits to having enjoyed the second avocation more than the first. Perhaps, he was always a teacher at heart but did not know it. His life has taken him to many corners of the World and he has been able to draw upon a varied existence to throw light upon the subjects he has chosen for his essays.
