PREVENTION, CONTROL AND SOLUTION OF PNEUMONIA AND DIARRHEA
To significantly reduce child mortality, dedicated, coordinated, and integrated national and subnational measures for the prevention and control of pneumonia and diarrhea are required. Interventions are required to reduce illness spread and severity as well as to provide access to life-saving care for unwell children. Due to their close linkages and similar risk factors, treatments, and comorbidities, pneumonia and diarrhea must be prevented and treated with a coordinated strategy.
The integrated Global Action Plan for Pneumonia and Diarrhea was published by WHO and UNICEF in 2013. (GAPPD). The strategy encourages healthy behaviors, makes sure that every child has access to effective and appropriate preventative and treatment measures, and contains a straightforward integrated framework to safeguard against, prevent, and treat pneumonia and diarrhea.
