Professional exhaustion (PE) is a three-dimensional syndrome comprising emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DEP) and personal accomplishment (PA). Several socio-demographic, personal and professional factors interfere with the teaching profession, leading to PE, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, preparing teachers for PE and improving working conditions are strongly recommended to guarantee better teaching quality.
