Pretty Eyes, Ugly Cries is a collection of poems in the style of Storytelling, Spoken Word, and Lyric Poetry. The writings describe a "spitfire" personality and are filled with raw emotions. The style and language seek for deliberation; shutting out denial by welcoming and entertaining inner peace. We've come to find that pain begets tears, and tears are a crucial part in the soul-cleansing process; thus sparking the realization that wounds can be more than skin-deep. True healing begins when we allow wounds to air out. Although pain may come from removing the shield, the "Band-Aid", it should be welcomed not shunned in order for proper healing to take place. Pretty Eyes, Ugly Cries gather the true beauty of one's tears; moreover, it shows that one can overcome obstacles and will remain pretty once they've released a pretty ugly cry when stricken by an overflow of joy.
