By Nathan D. Iverson and Ronald L. Ellis

Prepared for This: Leading Institutions with Vision and Resolve by Ronald L. Ellis and Nathan D. Iverson reveals how enduring leaders are formed for the long haul through signature experiences, disciplined preparation, and mission-centered decision-making.

Told through the inside story of a university president who helped transform a struggling college into a flourishing institution, the book traces how pivotal life experiences, intentional preparation, and mission-driven choices cultivate resilience and vision over decades. Organized in three movements--formation and vision, leading through action, and legacy and continuity--it blends compelling narrative with practical wisdom, challenging leaders to think beyond immediate results and embrace the formation processes that enable faithful, strategic impact across a lifetime of service.

Anchored in a credible, measurable transformation, Prepared for This offers a timely correction to short-term leadership culture and a case-study-driven framework for sustainable stewardship.
