Diabetes mellitus is currently considered a worldwide threat, it is proposed that there is a condition called prediabetes that precedes this disease, 25% of prediabetic patients in a period of three to five years, progress to type 2 diabetes mellitus, 25% return to a normal state of glucose tolerance and 50% remain in the prediabetic state. Recognizing and reducing the risk factors that predispose to this entity is an aspect of special importance. This material proposes an educational program for the treatment and awareness of patients at risk.
