Prayers to Saint Clare to Open Paths and Clear the Mind

There are three foundations for which, over the centuries, the intercession of Saint Clare has been sought to open paths and clear the mind. The first foundation arises from the miracles attributed to the saint not only after her death, but during her life. On one occasion, the episode in which Saint Clare was able to see and hear Mass from a distance during her illness was interpreted spiritually as a gift of supernatural clarity: God can show what is hidden and allow one to understand what was not seen before.

The second foundation comes from her life. Saint Clare lived a radical trust in Divine Providence. She renounced all material security and embraced absolute poverty together with her Poor Clare sisters, trusting that God would provide what was necessary. This attitude was interpreted by devotional tradition as a faith capable of opening paths where, humanly speaking, there are none.

And finally, the third foundation is her name; "Clare" comes from the Latin clarus, which means light, clarity, brightness, or transparency. In Christian spirituality, light is one of the strongest symbols of God's action: light reveals, guides, dispels darkness, and makes it possible to see the right path.
