Prayers for Overthinking: Learning to Entrust Tomorrow to God's Wisdom and Care

By Micah Kettering

Even ordinary responsibilities can feel harder when every possibility demands attention. In such moments, turning to God can become an invitation to pause, bring personal concerns into prayer, and remember that not every question must be answered at once.
This collection of original Christian prayers offers words for those moments when thoughts seem difficult to set aside.
Christian devotion does not require having every doubt resolved or every outcome understood. Prayer can be an act of returning to God with the concerns that occupy the mind, asking for discernment when decisions are difficult and patience when answers take time. It can also help keep daily concerns in their proper place, leaving room for gratitude, compassion, responsibility, and trust in God's will.
These prayers are intended to accompany you without imposing a rigid routine or promising an effortless answer to every struggle. You may read one at the beginning of the day, turn to a prayer before making a difficult decision, or spend a few minutes with one when thoughts about the past or future become hard to put aside. Some days, the words may help you express what you have been carrying; on others, they may offer a starting point for your own conversation with God.
For Christians seeking devotional support with worry, rumination, discernment, and trust in God's care, this collection offers a personal way to bring the concerns of everyday life into prayer.
