Jesus explained that "the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:21). Paul, the Apostle, wrote, "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the holy ghost" (Romans 14:17). God, through Jesus Christ, has provided a way for us not only to experience an eternity with Him after breathing our last breath on this side, but that we can experience heaven now. Although, we fall short, there is a righteousness that cannot be taken from us, it is a gift. Regardless of our family stresses, busy schedules, hectic workloads, or the concerns of this increasingly sinful world, we can have inner peace, a peace which surpasses all understanding. Prayer is a very important component in receiving God's promises to us.
