Picked up some great tips from this book. I should write a cheatsheet sometime and post it online.

A good, solid catechesis for prayer.

This book does a good job of explaining how and why to pray in clear language. Many common objections to praying and misconceptions about praying are addressed. The dialogue format can be cheesy and annoying, but don't let that stop you from reading a book full of valuable insights.
