Prayer Closet Devotional: One Hundred Days of Prayer

There is one thing I have learned in my own prayer life. I need my journal with me so I can write the words given to me by the Holy Spirit. I know this is God's way of giving me words that I will speak in the future. When I start praying a simple short prayer, there are times when my mind becomes filled with words as if they are being spoken to me and I speak them as fast as they are being spoken to me. Afterward, I have people tell me that the prayer was beautiful and exactly what they needed to hear. All I can say is the Holy Spirit started speaking and I know in my heart that the Holy Spirit was giving them confirmation that God hears their prayers.

After service one Sunday, Ms. Sharon Dunson asked if I would write my prayers so she could read them later. What I thought would be a simple task that should only take a short time to complete turned into an adventure of searching my heart through long hours of writing in my journal, abiding in the presence of God, and finally getting the courage to ask a great friend to edit the prayers. I have been truly blessed by this adventure and I am grateful for your request.
