For me this book was both a source of inspiration and an aid to getting through the tribulations of everyday life. Mathis puts forth the notion that prayer for healing is a multi-faceted concept, and that different people (and people in different life situations) can benefit from it in many ways. The book changed the way I think about prayer, and also the way in which I actually pray. I am convinced that it has not only improved some of the circumstances of my existence but also those of some of my friends. A thoughtful, centered, and not at all preachy, book.
