Scripts are used in Windows to automate administrative tasks. A simple script can often be used to make a single click that an unskilled user can use rather than having to use a series of separate clicks each requiring a decision. This book was written for experienced Windows Systems adminstrators, engineers, and help-desk technicians needing to automate their windows environment. The book does not cover the Systems Management Server, SQL Server or the Exchange Server, but the techniques are the same and the techniques described here can well be used with the different scripts used with those software packages. The book is supplied with a CD that contains several scripts. There is a cautionary note saying that these scripts should be well tested by you before installing on operational (as opposed to test) systems. The CD also includes Script Store tool that is useful to securely save and retrieve scripts.
