A written blessing!

An excellent choice. Unique.

This is a unique family devotional. Each devotion is written on two facing pages. The first page is: - 1-2 Bible verses - a few paragraphs of devotional text related to the scripture - 1-3 questions for discussion - a Bible-trivia question related to the daily topic The second page consists of a prayer incorporating several scriptures. The prayer is not 100% "praying the scriptures;" it's part scripture verbatim and part paraphrased scripture. I think this is perfect for using with children. One thing that sets this book apart from others is that the devotional texts and related questions are simple enough for young children (maybe 5 and up) but profound enough to get adults thinking too. For example, past questions have been: Who do you take advice from and why? How can your family members improve the way they speak to one another? How can you show gratitude to the person who cooks your meal? The authors avoid those "duh" questions where a child can tune out during the reading and mindlessly answer "Jesus!" or "Love others" to every question. There are a few pages that deal with subjects you may want to avoid with young ones (e.g. sex) but the vast majority are suitable for any age.
