In 2015, Demetrice Elaine Vassar was facing a life as an impoverished and homeless woman seeking true life. She kept a journal of her spiritual experience as well as a collection of poems that colored her temporal experience, and shelved them away in her bedroom closet. Four years later, a coworker encouraged her to write a book. She went home, removed her manuscript and collection of poems from the shelf, and combined them into this book.
