The river that flowed by the authors home was called Pound River, and was selected as the title to this book, because of it location and the importance for the rural river for the rural county is flows through. It includes poetry written in the 1940 and was included as a book for enjoyable reading of boys from 8 to 80 years old. It is intended as a comical look at a simple life in the years after the end of the WW-II.
