The book tells about the third year of the life of a young scientist in a newly built Academgorodock, near Novosibirsk. He describes the events he had witnessed, and he often took part. In 1961, he formulates the principles of social development of that place. He did not invent them but he wanted to realize them in Academgorodock. He dreams the Academgorodock will be the most beautiful and the most comfortable place where to live, and to be the township of the happy people. He hopes that gradually everything will change for the best. He wants to be the direct participant in these changes, and to take the real part in building the new, better life in the future communist town. Moreover, he does everything he can to realize his dreams into reality.
