It describes Mongolia's desperate search for foreign investment that would ensure an independent future for its people, free from the influence of powerful near neighbours who had occupied the country for varying periods over the last three hundred years. Andrew represented one of the world's largest mining companies. He built an effective Mongolian professional team that searched the country for large coal deposits suitable for export to neighbouring China, and along the way provided logistical, cross cultural, and geopolitical support to that company's efforts to develop the largest then known undeveloped copper-gold deposit in the world. This book is a tribute to the Mongolians who supported him through those challenging times and made tough situations endurable.
