Portable Composting Machine with Mechanical\Electric Shredder

Indian household produces average of 0.9 kg of organic waste. This waste is disposed of in
municipal landfills where it produces methane due to anaerobic decomposition. Solution to this
is aerobic composting. The designed machine is a fully automatic, mechanical and highly
compact, portable aerobic composting machine, which uses mechanical shredding machine
attached with electric motor. Shredder is placed on top of the composting bin. The special
microorganisms are present to break down and decompose all kinds of organic waste into
compost. The entire process is mechanical and natural. The composting process is efficient
temperature below 35 degrees Celsius and are effective even in all kinds of condition. The
machine has a cylindrical -shaped composting tank, with a temperature sensor, heater, shredder
using coaxial set of gears as blade and a temperature regulating fan. When organic waste is added
to it, shredder makes fine particles of organic waste and feeds it to the composting bin. When the
fine particles of the organic waste is added to the composting bin the decomposing organisms
make it compost. Temperature sensor and control unit controls the temperature of the composting
bin of requires temperature of composting i.e. below 35 degrees Celsius, if temperature exceeds
the required temperature the fans cool down the bin.
