The study of the population and human settlements in Tecuci Plain concerns a region not studied distinctly until now, joining the series of regional studies dedicated to representative social-economic regions in Romania. In this context, I considered that this territory between the two major Romanian geographical regions - the Romanian Plain and the Moldavian Plateau - requires a detailed research of the population and human settlements in order to detect the dynamics of demographic and economic phenomena, dynamics and typology of human settlements as well as their evolution trends.
