Pop Pop's Bible Adventures: Ideas
When you do not know what to do, can you ask God to give you an idea?
Pop Pop has repaired just about everything-but his custom red truck has him stumped. No matter how many times he adjusts the carburetor, the engine still will not run properly.
Rob joins him in the garage and begins asking questions. Pop Pop has checked the O-rings, tuned the engine, and tried every solution he can think of. Finally, he decides it is time to put away his tools and take a milk-and-cookie break.
Then Rob notices the words of Proverbs 3:5-6 hanging above Pop Pop's workbench:
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Rob asks one simple question:
"Pop Pop, did you ask God?"
Pop Pop realizes Rob remembers what he taught him about King Solomon and the wisdom God gives when we ask. Together, they pray-and soon Rob has an idea. Maybe the problem is not the carburetor after all. Maybe it is the fuel filter
When we do not know what to do, we can ask God for wisdom-and pay attention to the ideas He gives us.
