Friends or people taking advantage of you? Amanda doesn't know, but Mallory does!

Mallory's father just lost his job. And he has EIGHT kids, a wife... and a hamster... to support. Mallory and her siblings are worried about money, so they come up with some clever ideas of how THEY can earn money. Another problem is at school. Kids, even some of the ones Mallory considered her friends, start teasing her. Now Mallory knows who her REAL friends are! One of the things Mallory does to earn money is to sit for Amanda and Max Delaney. They recentley got a new swimming pool! The only problem is,kids - even kids who HATE the Delaneys - come over to play in the pool. Now Amanda (and Max) don't know who their REAL friends are. Can Mallory's father find a job? Can Amanda and Max figure out who's their friends? Read the book and find out!

Extremely wonderful!

Poor Mallory ranks as one of the top five BSC books ever written. It was fabulous. Mallory's father has just lost his job. Mallory tries to help her family out, by forming the Pike club, and baby-sitting as much as she can. She also studies extremely hard, because she feels the need to get straight A's. Soon, a few snobby girls find out about Mallory's father, and make fun of her and her dad. Meanwhile, Mal has taken a daily job at the Delaney's. One problem: the kids are spoiled rotten. They have a real fountain and a $400 cat. With a father out of work, a group of snobs on her case, and two rich kids to baby-sit for, will Mallory be able to handle it all? With the help and support of the BSC, she just might.

A very good book.

I rated "Poor Mallory!" 5 stars because I thought it was great. Mallory's father lost his job and the Pike kids figure out ways to earn money. A lot of other kids teased the Pike kids. Will Mallory's dad find another job? If you want to find out, read "Poor Mallory!"
