Ponga is an Orangutan who lives in a zoo, and after hearing of the plight of her wild family due to Palm Oil plantations, and human conflict, she decides to visit them. During her visit, she discovers differences in their lives and briefly experiences fear and the need for survival that her wild family endures.Primarily a children's book, the story line is appropriate for anyone. The back contains several pages of facts written at an adult level as well as resources for more information and to help the orangutans. All proceeds from this book go to fund a proposed orangutan 'oasis' being developed by local Indonesian native wildlife conservationists and to further develop this endeavor.
