Growing up on an island (Long Island specifically), Ray has always gravitated towards the water as a source of inspiration as well as a place of solace.

Amongst other places, he has lived in Newport Beach, California and currently resides in Florida. The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as well as the Caribbean Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico have been particularly inspiring. Their power, presence and magnitude humble him as well as enliven his imagination. It is while he's beachside that he feels as though the universe "downloads" words, thoughts and themes into him, and writing is his way of sharing them....
