In a small town in southern New Hampshire a brinks truck transports five-hundred pounds of gold from the town of Northwood to Concord. About halfway to its destination on a backroad Russel Profitt and Cord Stewel wait for the truck. As it approaches Cord aims and fires his rifle hitting the left front tire of the truck. The truck his forced to stop and the two thieves rob the truck. After their successful heist they head for the Canada border by way of a backroad in north western Maine. While driving along the side of the Ponasat river they decide to stop and take fifty pounds of the gold and bury it along the bank of the river as a precaution should they get caught. In a pursuit by the police and before they reach the border they crash the car while speeding on a bridge that crosses the Ponasat river. The driver dies in the crash but Russel Profitt survives and winds up going to jail for twenty years. After serving his sentence Russel partners a friend. Rolan Sykes and they both head up to Maine to dig up the fifty pounds of goal that was buried along the river two decades earlier. Follow the excitement and drama as our heroes Ben and Nikki Logan and her fiancé Dan McCalister get mixed up with the thieves and the gold along the Ponasat river. Rapids, waterfalls. a whirlpool, weather and the nefarious villains guarantee to stimulate the reader's interest as they wonder how and if our heroes will survive their ordeal.
