A chilling exploration of a variety of strange and eery paranormal phenomena for study by the layperson. This illustrated book covers such phenomena spontaneous human combustion, poltergeists, people with strange or unusual powers, strange items falling from the skies, vanishings and disappearances and crop circles. In the chapter entitled 'Hearts on Fire' cases explored include Spontaneous fires and cases of people burning to ashes without any apparent external cause. Also examined is how ,people-often children-with the strange ability (linked to poltergeists) to set nearby objects on fire. In the chapter on "Poltergeists with a difference' the author covers accounts of blood spurting from walls and other inanimate objects, while other cases involve sexual disturbances as well as strange omens. According to Stone 'Poltergeist infestations are a grotesque roll call of the most mean minded, petty and spiteful acts that human malice can devise. Then there is the chapter on 'Human Enigmas'. At 4, Zheng Xiangling, could see glowing auras surrounding people, at 6 she could accurately predict the sex of unborn babies, by the times she was 24 she had developed an X-ray vision which the leaders of Red China found very useful. In the chapter entitled 'Unexpected Arrivals' we read not only of the more common phenomenon of fogs and fishes falling from the skies, but also of crosses or money doing so.
