An Invaluable Resource

This textbook is an excellent resource for the scholar, student, and even the casual, inquisitive observer of Western European politics. And though the lattermost might find the text somewhat dense, this could hardly be considered a drawback. Each of the chapters is indeed richly detailed, but never extraneously so, and the chapters are refreshingly brief. As an owner of numerous recent, respected works of comparative political analysis, I can recommend this little volume over many. The scholar especially will appreciate the authors' thorough and insightful comparative-institutional approach.
