POLICE WRESTLING Mat Holds-Grips-Falls

By Arthur Hobart Farrar

This hidden gem of a wrestling manual features wrestling stars Professor Butch and Mike Lacklaw in a review of turning amateur wrestling skills into useful police control and restraint tactics. The guide begins with an analysis of traditional wrestling formats from Catch, Freestyle and Greco-Roman competitions. Following with transitions into 'street-based' scenarios that an officer may come across. We explore how wrestling needs optimisation for police clothing, outdoor environments and the presence of weapons and accomplices. How to use quarter nelsons and flying mares on the tough streets and beats that officers find themselves patrolling. Covering groundwork, locks, pins and throws - this comprehensive and illustrated guide gives officers a thorough grounding in the fundamental wrestling drills and skills for arrest and self-protection.
