Poetry Thursdays

Poetry Thursdays is a quiet, luminous novel set in a humble adobe home in Santa Fe, New Mexico-a place steeped in silence, memory, and unexpected magic. The story follows Dev Jain, a burned-out web entrepreneur and spiritual seeker, who rents a room in the house seeking solitude, but instead stumbles into a hidden community of poets, artists, farmers, mystics, and wanderers-each one drawn to the house by something older and deeper than reason.

Dev's journey begins when Luna M rquez, a botanist-poet, visits and reveals an astonishing truth: patterns in nature-leaves, the moon's surface, even cracks in adobe-can be read as poetry. Nature, she insists, is not metaphor-it is language itself, waiting to be heard. Dev is stunned, and the house begins to change him.

One by one, others begin to appear. Tomas, the Navajo painter who transforms poems into sacred images. Serafina, the fierce spoken word artist who teaches Dev the weight of silence. Michael, a wealthy screenwriter humbled by the raw genius of the group. Juniper, the nomadic enigma who writes in water and wind. Willow Rain, a soft-spoken poet of the streets whose haikus heal. And many more-each vibrant, each broken and beautiful, each called back by the house itself.

As they gather for Poetry Thursdays-informal, candlelit readings under the stars-Dev finds his own voice emerging not through ambition, but through listening. In parallel, Silent Soup Nights begin to grow on Mondays-meals shared without words, where presence becomes the deepest form of poetry. Over time, Dev comes to see the house itself as a living poem: its beams, its curves, its courtyard, even its cracks-all part of a sacred text encoded in space.

In the penultimate chapter, Dev and his landlord Eli n uncover a physical manuscript carved into the foundation of the courtyard-a map of spirals, river paths, and elemental language. Eli n reveals he built the house as a poem, not to publish, but to live inside. Dev realizes he hasn't joined a writing group; he's entered a lineage.

In the final chapter, on the spring equinox, the circle returns in full for a ceremonial reading-each voice, each silence, completing the living stanza that the house itself has been writing through them all along.

At its heart, Poetry Thursdays is a story about listening-to nature, to one another, and to the invisible thread that connects all things. It is a meditation on artistic belonging, quiet magic, and the idea that the most powerful poems are not invented, but remembered.

This is not a novel about writing poetry.

It is a novel about becoming poetry.
