Poetry in the Mourning is about a young African American woman who is mourning the life that she thought she desired and deserved. This leads her on a tedious life journey of self examination, exploration, and reflection as she attempts to reconcile regrets and short comings from her past. She then begins to question herself and God as she searches for her life's purpose. As she begins to see herself more clearly she starts to recognize and call out her own toxic patterns and self sabotaging ways. Digging deep within herself, she searches for a solution.
