Poetry for Men: Poems across three continents

If you do not try
You will never know
Whether you had it
To succeed or not.

But willing to try
I would give it my all
And give it my all
I did.

You won't be any good
I heard it said
Well, I never said
That I would.

But you can't frighten me
With failure now
Because failure is the only
Success I've had.

I didn't turn back
From ridicule and scorn
Nor the fear of loss
Deterred me

Nor played it safe
And was willing to lose
If to lose
It must be.

But not to have tried
When my heart said I should
And not to embrace
The uncertain with love.

To love enough to overcome.
That is the reward
And not the success.

But not to have tried
And given up
Before even begun
Where is the reward in that?

That is the sin
And perish the thought.
