Poetry and Reflection is a collection of poems written by Roger Neumaier in the years following his retirement. The poetry journal, averaging one hand-written poem a month for seven years, was intended to reflect changes in the world around him and explore the meaning of life from his new vantage point. However, the progression of poems ended up also reflecting the changes that occurred in Neumaier's life during a period of personal loss, change and growth.
Rather than following a plot-line, the arc in this book of poetry occurs across and between the poems and within Neumaier's growth in understanding of the world around him. The Poems straddle the line between personal philosophy and poetry.
