Poems to Take You on an Insect Journey

By Ricky D Nix Jr

Poems to Take You on an Insect Journey is a wildly imaginative, laugh-out-loud adventure into the teeny-tiny world beneath our feet-where bugs aren't just bugs... they're divas, ninjas, heroes, and cupcake connoisseurs.

This delightful poetry collection invites readers to shrink down and see the world through compound eyes and glitter-dusted wings. You'll meet a stinkbug with a flair for dramatic (and sparkly) exits, a stealthy beetle who balances ninja skills with a serious cheese addiction, and a ladybug who believes every day deserves frosting. There are mantises with sugar-spun dreams, butterflies with runway-ready confidence, and beetles strutting around like they own the garden-and honestly, they kind of do.

Bursting with rhythm, rhyme, and heart, these poems blend playful silliness with gentle life lessons about bravery, friendship, curiosity, and celebrating what makes you wonderfully weird. The language dances, the characters leap off the page, and every poem feels like a mini stage performance starring six (or more ) very enthusiastic legs.

Perfect for bedtime giggles, classroom read-alouds, or independent young readers discovering the joy of poetry, Poems to Take You on an Insect Journey turns the natural world into a sparkling playground of imagination. It reminds us that even the smallest creatures can have the biggest personalities-and that sometimes, the most magical adventures are happening right in the grass.

In this world, bugs don't just crawl.

They shine.
