Martha Berkompas wrote these poems and stories at different times during her life. She loved to travel and often left the city to visit nature and the great outdoors, which became the setting for much of her work. Her roots are Traditional Southern, and some of her friends lightheartedly say she was born in the south only by the grace of God. Martha always maintained her authentic personality and was never pretentious about her country roots. She truly loved people and made friends easily. She was a prolific writer, but unfortunately, she never widely published any of her works during her lifetime. This collection contains several selections from her many stories and poems.
