The inspiration for the poems in this book come from Betty's life, her love for God and social challenges. Many are confronted with real and profound emotions these days, like grief, guilt, fear, hurt, hopelessness, anxiety, and shame. The words are not always easily there to express those feelings. Betty's desire and prayer is for her readers to find comfort and inspiration from her poetry. Know you are not alone. Betty brings these emotions out in her poetry and shows the power of hope, belief, and healing in her life. Betty Jean Banks is a native of Louisiana. She is retired from an agency of the federal government. She has four amazing adult children. Betty graduated as salutatorian of her class at Greenoaks High School. In later years, Betty received several awards for poems she entered in poetry contests. Among them was a Golden Poet Award, two Honorable Mention Awards from The World of Poetry, and an Editor's Choice Award from the National Library of Poetry. Betty thanks God for using her to compose this book of poetry with the Holy Spirit's inspiration and guidance.
