Poems of the Addicted: Catch-22

Catch 22 is composed of 22 poems written over the years. It is also a situation without resolve. Whatever happens, it feels like the circumstances won't get better regardless of what happens; where the road leads. That's how addiction feels like sometimes, doesn't it? You know you have to get sober but you can't live in sobriety and life is scary.
These poems highlight the days I was lost and in the bondage of addiction, as well as, reflections in abstinence. Some of them I have changed or improved. This is my escape and my art.
I'm very grateful to be alive and be able to share this work with the world in an artistic expression and prose.
Some of these pieces span two decades back, as sometimes, I found solace in writing.
I'd like to encourage anyone that battles alcohol and substances to keep trying and never give up. Successful recovery is not only possible, but it could be behind the winding road, if people don't give up and continue on the journey . . . to a happy, joyous and free destination.
