Poems of Contemplation after Love & Loss

These poems tell of the Lover's contemplation over the two years following the loss of the Beloved. Thus they serve as a sequel to Poems of Love & Loss, published in 2021.

The poems are divided into three sections that represent the journey of the Lover through grief, a hospital stay, and then contemplating involvement in the world. The second section "Hospital Poems" are more like prose in verse-form as they describe for a new friend what is being encountered and experienced. Poetic contemplation returns in part three.

Like the first volume, these poems are essentially sequential in their writing. Many of the poems address the dissonance encountered by the Lover as a human being with feelings and as a person called by God to serve the Church as a pastor. Some of the poems also step out of grief to contemplate some happenings in the world and family.
