Poetry saved my life. May it save yours too.
I was supposed to be normal. But I wasn't.
I grew up battling ADHD, dyslexia, asthma, depression, and the grief of losing my sister when I was just ten years old. I carried rage, shame, and suicidal thoughts. I was the boy who couldn't read, the kid in the "short bus," the teenager who thought maybe it would be easier to leave this world than keep stumbling through it.
But then I found poetry.
Not the kind they teach in classrooms, neat and polished. Not the kind meant for critics. I found the kind that rips open your chest and shows you your own heart. The kind that takes silence and turns it into rhythm. The kind that lets you survive one more day.
Poem Power is my testimony. It is raw. It is scarred. It is not pretty. But it is real.
This book is for anyone who has ever felt broken, ashamed, grieving, or ready to give up. It's for the survivors who carry scars on the inside and wonder if they'll ever heal. It's for the fathers and mothers who want to leave something true behind. It's for the kids who can't sit still, can't make the letters behave, and wonder if they'll ever be "enough."
Inside Poem Power, you'll find:
