Poe Montgomery and his family moved to the Montana Territory where he became a trapper. Less than a year later, Poe tragically looses them to fever. On her death bed, Poe promises his wife Sarah that he would keep their dream alive and leave his old life of killing behind. When Poe gets a visit from the bank he finds himself in jeopardy of losing his land and with it his promise. Opportunity strikes though when Poe takes a job with a United States Marshal to help track down a wanted man who has fled to the territory after abducting a woman and her young child. Through the mountains of the territory Poe leads the marshal and his company of men to their man only to find out people aren't who they say they are and his days of killing may not be behind him.
