In Cooky McClung's uniquely warm and lively style, this tale of a maybe not-so-beautiful horse reminds us all that true beauty comes from inside and isn't based on outward appearances. Barbara Tyler's... This description may be from another edition of this product.
While at a Horse Show this summer in Cleveland, OHIO I came across this book in soft cover and just re- published by the illustrator Barbara Tyler. I met the author at the event because the show was giving a Plugly Award to a horse that had distinguished itself. I read the book and was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. The story carried a message that all children need to understand. And with the lovely illustrations, which hide a Jack Russell in each for the kids to find as the story is read to them, the lesson is easily learned. The story is an endearing one that I have seen often at the stables. A good read for young readers.
The, in publish, book that could do everything.

This wonderfully written book is the ugly duckling story for children who love horses. With a cast of talking horses and diverse young children this beautifully illustrated book brings Plugly, the hero of the story, to a winning dressage ending. Make sure you and your kids look out for the hidden Jack Russel Terrier on every page.
