PLUCKED and BURNED - BEEN THERE! LIVED IT!

As a former poultry grower for "Con"Agra in South Arkansas, I highly recommend anyone who "has been, thinking about, works in the industry, or is a current poultry grower" to purchase PLUCKED AND BURNED by Sylvia Tomlinson. It is an outstanding, realistic story that we have lived and are still suffering from to this day.We can relate to many of the incidents described in the book and have suffered from the humiliation, intimidation and demeaning tactics used by service personnel and "bosses".

An actual chicken farmers review

This book is called a novel, but it isn't fiction. A non-farmer will read this and assume it is exaggerated for effect,it is not. Contract farmers' treatment at the hands of the chicken companies are big agriculture's dirtiest little secret. Great read. Can't give my name or address because like the people in the book, I'm afraid.

Great Book

"Plucked And Burned" is GREAT!! I didn't want it to end. Even though its fiction, it really hit the mark with things that can happen to poultry growers. I hope Sylvia Thomlinson writes a sequel.

Before sitting down for you next meal I would suggest that you read this book. You will not look at a chicken dinner in the same way again. Plucked and Burned by Sylvia Tomlinson is a fictional story about the modern day slavery of the poultry industry. Suspenseful and gripping, Mrs. Tomlinson's one big surprise about this book is that all these events in the book are based on true facts. Tomlinson has spent hundreds of hours researching the horrors in the industry, so she can share them with us. Murder, arson, all the good elements you think you would find in a great mystery novel are here in this gripping tale that all of us can learn from.

Plucked and Burned

I loved this book because it delves into the relationship between a large poultry company and it's employees as well as the contract growers. The book is well researched and gives an accurate portrayal of the plight of the growers and employees of the company.
