This is the student workbook for Joel Epstein's program for teaching violin in classes. The workbook - the only of its kind - is to be used in conjunction with the Playing Together Teacher's Guide. The workbook covers the first year of study, and includes ensemble compositions, exercises for music literacy, and many other activities related to general music education. And it is fun!The workbook is the culmination of many years of experience and research into classroom tuition of violin. It embodies Epstein's unique approach, which emphasizes the social aspect of music making: from the very beginning, children learn to play in ensemble, in several voices, to listen to each other, and to cooperate to make music.
