Plant Daddy: A Sweet Romantic Comedy

By: Coon, Shae

Sometimes love blooms when you least expect it.

Jax Reid, a Leamington Spa firefighter whose quiet obsession with gardening accidentally becomes his most embarrassing internet project. His plants are thriving, his tomatoes are smug, but his gardening videos are dying harder than an overwatered spider plant.

Then Liv Mercer appears in his inbox.

Liv Mercer was forced to start over after she gave up the successful marketing firm she owned with her boyfriend after catching him cheating on her with his secretary, while also pilfering money from their account to woo said secretary. A year later, her new firm is doing incredibly, but at what cost?

Living entirely on work, caffeine, and crisis control, Liv has a panic attack. At her counselor's advisement, she tries to learn gardening to relax. After killing every plant she touches, Liv scours the internet for help when she discovers that "Plant Daddy" is the same kind, gorgeous firefighter who once got her safely home after a drunken karaoke disaster. She offers him a trade: teach her how to grow something, and she'll help him turn his gardening page into something people actually want to watch.

As Jax leans into ridiculous viral content, he finds himself more interested in Liv than the algorithm.
