Plans For A Simple Sauna is a step along the path of re-claiming our place in Nature. Covering everything from choosing a location for the sauna to installing the stove along with information on the origins of the sauna and it's ceremonial uses and health benefits Plans For A Simple Sauna will guide you through all the steps necessary to construct your very own sauna. Fully illustrated with pictures, diagrams and drawings including a list of materials and tools for each stage of the project Plans For A Simple Sauna will help make your sauna dream a reality! Mochi Kaimu lives with Colleen and daughters Ambiana and Jakobi on a 10 acre off-grid homestead in Worcester Vermont. With no formal training in construction he has nonetheless built a chicken coop, a dance hall with a fireplace and four decks, a three bedroom 1,440 sq/ft house, a tree house , an outhouse and a shed on their land. He is working on the hot tub.
This is the book I was looking for -- a simple, direct description of how to build an outdoor sauna. The author, Mochi Kaimu, built his wood-fired sauna near a stream, on his property in Northern Vermont. He documents the process in simple stages like laying a foundation, building the floor deck, the wall panels, sheathing and roofing. Kaimu does not assume any prior construction knowledge, so even unhandy dolts, like myself, can follow the process. I will refer back to this book, as I sketch out the plans for my own sauna-building project.
