Placoderm

Athena Spyros, PhD was a professor of Ichthyology at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Her life was full of routines and she was comfortable with her job and her home. That all changed when she was sent a fish scale by a friend of hers on the east coast. The scale came from a fish that should not exist. It became extinct over 360 million years ago or at least that is what people thought. If the scale were legitimate, it would mean the fish escaped extinction and existed in the present. That left some major questions. For instance, if there was one, there has to be more or they would not have been able to reproduce into the present. The other question was, where has it been all this time? The answers to these questions would lead Athena into an adventure she never dreamed of and her entire regulated life would be turned upside down. Soon the past would be intruding on the present and Athena would be caught in the middle.
