Piso is a Roman boy who wants to be a great poet like Virgil. This novella combines features of Livia: mater eloquens with the tiered versions of the Piso Ille Poetulus story taken from its Teacher's Guide and Student Workbook. There are 4 different levels under one cover, which readers choose, switching between them at any time (e.g. moving up a level for a challenge, or down a level for faster reading and/or higher confidence). Piso: Tiered Versions could be used as scaffolding for reading the original novella, Piso Ille Poetulus. Alternatively, it could be read independently as a Free Voluntary Reading (FVR) option, leaving it up to the learner which level to read.
