Twelve-year-old identical twins, Brianna and Evelyn, receive a game from their mother intended to "spice up" their homeschool curriculum. While "guaranteed to bring geography to life," Geotraveler does not impress the girls...at first. Once they begin to play, however, they quickly discover that the game fully lives up to its guarantee; as they are pulled into a magical map and deposited in an outside trattoria in Rome, Italy. From there, they must use their map, Travel Guide, and own wits to solve clues and complete tasks that will earn them enough stamps on their "passports" to end the game and return home. To do this, they must visit several cities, tour a variety of points of interest, and experience modern day Italy in a variety of ways. Along the way, they record interesting observations and information in their Travel Diary, ultimately impressing their mother with the wealth of knowledge they gained from "just playing a simple game."
