A JOURNEY INTO THE HEART Our greatest calling is to know God. In all seasons, we are to know him with all our hearts, all our souls, and all our minds. This journey is designed to help you discover God with your heart. Our roadmap is the Psalms, uncovering God's heart for your heart. We turn our attention to King David, a man who lived an imperfect life, yet was described as a man after God's own heart. Following his example of vulnerability and intimacy with the Lord, we explore the hidden places of our hearts. On this journey, we confront topics such as shame, unworthiness, anxiety, loneliness, control, and more, turning to the Psalms to equip us for the lifelong journey of walking with the shepherd. A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR God wants to reveal his heart for your heart. Do you ever feel like you know about God but don't really have a heart connection with him? What I have noticed in the church is many believers struggle to escape head knowledge to encounter the heart of God. We limit our discovery of God to our minds and fail at discovering him with our whole heart. This devotional is purposefully designed to facilitate vulnerability and intimacy with the Lord. Over the next nine weeks, we will look to an imperfect man, King David, as our example to explore the hidden places of our hearts. This journey begins by addressing our internal emotional health with topics such as shame, insecurity, loneliness, anxiety, conflict, and submission. We conclude this journey by examining our overall wellbeing in context of our relational health with the Lord with topics such as prayer, pursuit, and worship. This Nine Week Devotional covers eight Psalms. Each week includes: Day One: a Psalm and a 20-30 minute reading Days Two - Seven Contemplation: Scripture(s), self-reflection questions, prayer or meditative prompts ABOUT THE AUTHOR Bethany Morgan is an author, entrepreneur, pastor, and non-profit director from North Carolina. Bethany is a wife, mother, lover of worship, adventurer in the kitchen, serial entrepreneur, avid Wolfpack fan, proud Lord of the Rings enthusiast, international traveler, untidy homemaker, homeschool teacher, and much more.
