Written on the site of the Ness of Brodgar excavation in Orkney, this renga is a twenty-two verse poem that hints at what it is like to be and work on this Neolithic archaeological site. The eight participants all had some connection to the site. Renga master, Yvonne Gray, assisted the group to collaborate and has created an evocative tone throughout the 900 year old Japanese format. The stanzas are placed over details from the 15 x 5 foot long painting that Jeanne Bouza Rose, an artist-in-residence at the site, created on the site. The book is full of colour, form, and feeling. All profits from purchasing this book supports the Ness of Brodgar Trust to continue its Neolithic research and archaeology on Orkney, Scotland.
