Pinhole Self Portraits: Portrait experiments with pinhole camera

In 2015 M rcio Faustino Santos begun an experiment with self portraits photographed with a pinhole camera; a camera adapted by himself. Many tests and experiments were made with lights, film negatives and film developers in order to archive the most attractive result. The photographs are long exposures ranging from 1 to 8 minutes. The long exposures self portraits required the photographer (who is sitting for the photos) to stay still until the end of the photo exposure time. This waiting time belongs to contemplation - a concept M rcio Faustino Santos has for his slow cameras to oppose the rush, efficiency and immediate tendency of our time, which forbid the "unproductive"] contemplating time. The experiments results you can see in this book. These photos are about contemplation, illumination and death.
